ADAPTIVE KAYAKING

EWP is proud to partner with the Paralympic Sport Association (PSA) to deliver inclusive parakayakingexperiences.

Experience the serenity and the rush of being on the water. As you settle into the kayak, the world grows quieter—then, with each paddle stroke, you build confidence and momentum in a smooth, rewarding rhythm.

Sessions are led by EWP’s NCCP-certified instructors, who teach essential paddling techniques and on-water safety. Our adapted kayaking program is fully inclusive. Participants are welcome regardless of ability, mobility, or mobility aid. With as much or as little adaptive equipment as you prefer, you’ll learn to paddle, steer, and confidently control your kayak. Individual and tandem kayaks are available, and four wheelchair-accessible paddleboardscan be used with a manual wheelchair.

PSA and EWP are here to help you discover that sense of freedom—gliding forward as the kayak responds to your movements like an extension of your body. The steady splash of the paddle brings a meditative calm, balanced by the thrill of exploring the outdoors under your own power.

Programs take place at Rundle Park—a true gem in Edmonton’s river valley. Enjoy a peaceful paddle surrounded by open water and fresh air, where you can feel both grounded and energized as you leave nothing behind but ripples.

The program begins with a recreational focus. As with all EWP instruction, we incorporate engaging games and skill-building drills to keep sessions active and fun. We maintain a high instructor-to-participant ratio to support a wide range of goals and experience levels. If you’re looking for a more competitive challenge, we can also introduce pathways into disciplines such as canoe polo, slalom, and sprint.
